A clause in a will or trust that if a beneficiary who challenges the terms of a will forfeits any inheritance, they will receive in the existing document. A no-contest clause is generally used to discourage will contests if they are anticipated. These clauses are not enforced in all circumstances or states. Currently, no-contest clauses are not enforceable in Indiana and Florida.
